Ethiopia Update I Tigray region to hold polls, US withholds aid for Ethiopia dam project: Awol Allo

Ethiopia's northern Tigray region will head to the polls on Wednesday in defiance of the federal government. This is seen as the latest challenge to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed from a slew of regional leaders flexing their muscles ahead of next year's national elections. & The US has announced that it will withdraw 100-million US Dollars of aid to Ethiopia as a dispute continues with Egypt and Sudan over a dam Ethiopia is building on the Nile river.
